WhichGoat is a structured, cited reference for US goat breeds, built to answer one question: which goat, for what you actually need it for.

Compiled and maintained by Josh Weale, who read every US goat registry standard so you don't have to.

Every number on this site comes from a breed registry, a university extension program, or published research, and every figure carries its source and the date we checked it. Where no credible source states something, the page says so rather than guessing. Facts that apply to goats in general rather than to one breed are shown separately and labeled as such.

I am not a goat keeper or a veterinarian. This site tells you what the breeds are and how they compare. It does not tell you how to care for one; for that, the extension programs we cite are the place to start.
